Physical disabilities and financial hardships prevent seniors from completing necessary repairs in their homes, which at times makes their living conditions dangerous and unhealthy. This past Saturday, April 25, we at Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating were able to contribute our time and energy to the wonderful organization Rebuilding Together.

Rebuilding Together helps out our senior citizen neighbors by getting local businesses and community groups together to renovate the homes of our senior citizens in order to make their living conditions safe and healthy. Falls are the leading cause of injury and death among our seniors and more than half of all falls happen at home. Approximately 250,000 hip fractures occur each year among senior citizens, and the average cost of hip fracture is $33,000!  Studies show that 50% of home accidents can be prevented by simple home modifications  such as grab bars and railings.
